Data collected through comments

Visitors may submit a comment on certain news articles published on the website. Every comment is subject to moderation before publication.

Data collected: name or nickname, email address, comment content and the language of submission.
Purpose: to allow a comment to be submitted, to moderate it, to publish it once approved, to prevent abuse and spam, and to handle any request relating to that comment.
Legal basis: ROMA2S France's legitimate interest in offering and moderating a public comments section, the submission remaining entirely at the visitor's own initiative.
Published data: the name or nickname and the comment content may be displayed publicly once approved. The email address is never published.
IP address: it may be used temporarily for security purposes and to limit abusive submissions, without being stored in the comment.
Retention period: a published comment is kept for as long as it remains online with the related news article, unless a deletion request is made. A rejected or hidden comment is kept for a maximum of 12 months before being deleted during administrative clean-up operations.
Internal notification: when a comment is submitted, a notification may be sent to the people authorised to moderate the website, to inform them that a comment is awaiting review.
Recipients: the internal teams of ROMA2S France (Gestal Group) authorised to moderate the website. No data is shared with third parties or used for commercial or marketing purposes.

You may request access to, rectification of, or deletion of the data linked to a comment — including the associated email address — by contacting us through the website's contact form.

Cookies

A technical session cookie is used to support your browsing and to secure forms, in particular through CSRF protection; it does not require your consent. Your cookie preference, on the other hand, is stored locally in your browser. OpenStreetMap maps

Pages containing a map load map tiles from the OpenStreetMap service (tile.openstreetmap.org). This request may transmit, in particular, your IP address to this third-party provider.

YouTube videos

Some news articles may contain one or more videos hosted on YouTube. No connection to YouTube is established until you voluntarily click the play button shown in place of the video. Clicking it establishes a connection to the YouTube "privacy-enhanced" player (youtube-nocookie.com): your IP address and certain technical information about your browser may then be transmitted to Google. This mode limits cookie deposits compared with a standard YouTube embed, but does not guarantee a total absence of cookies or data processing by Google once the video has loaded.
